Can Artificial Intelligence(AI) really steal our jobs?

The notion that artificial intelligence will take away jobs has been circulating for several years now, but is this really a possibility? Let’s consider the following points:

i. So far, AI has actually created more job opportunities than it has taken away. The modern world requires a significant increase in the number of data analysts and scientists who specialize in data manipulation, machine learning, and deep learning, among other areas of AI.

ii. The accuracy of AI is contingent on the quality of data it uses. Currently, it is not possible to detect, predict, and correct data quality issues autonomously. There are no widely accepted standards for data quality and many organizations lack data quality metrics. Before we worry about job loss to AI, we will need to invest years in training AI to manage and filter quality data on its own. Automating more than 40% of testing activities remains a challenge even after decades of research in software quality assurance and defect prediction. The field of data quality assurance is even more immature and complex compared to software.

iii. Throughout history, science and technology have advanced to a certain point before collapsing and starting from scratch again. Archaeologists have found evidence that thousands of years ago, civilizations had the ability to build pyramids, batteries, and flying machines, only to lose much of that knowledge and live in primitive ways for cycles.

In conclusion, it may not be a good idea worrying that AI could impact our job negatively.
